Celebrate the Christmas Season At Stanley Park

One of the most spectacular highlights of the holiday season in downtown Vancouver is the Stanley Park Bright Nights miniature train attracting several hundred thousand visitors each year and well within walking distance from Lord Stanley Suites.

Traveling 5,000 kilometers (the distance across Canada!) inside the park, you’ll be able to see and hear the dazzling sights and spectacular sounds of Christmas while on board the miniature train. What’s more, there’s hot chocolate, a visit from Santa and his elves as well as live entertainment. Enjoy a vast landscape of holiday-themed displays festively decorated with 3 million plus twinkling lights, all this installed by 800 firefighters contributing 8,000 hours over 3 months. Visitors are encouraged to make a donation to benefit the BC Burn Fund, and so far 1.4 million has been raised to date for burn survivors since it’s opening in 1998.  And if you’re in the mood for a different kind of train ride located nearby, visit the Vancouver Aquarium to view The Polar Express, (shown in 4D) a perennial favourite with kids and grownups alike is here for viewing only for the holidays! Concierge tip: Wanna see more lights? Just a few blocks from Lord Stanley is the newest piece of public art in Vancouver: an orca whale sculpture at the foot of Denman & Davie Streets providing a beacon of shimmering light right in the middle of English Bay. Happy Holidays from Lord Stanley Suites!
