Spend a Summer Day at Whistler

Although Whistler Blackcomb resort is known as a world class ski and snowboard destination as well as a myriad of other winter sports, the best kept secret is how vibrant and captivating the mountain can be in the summer, brimming with activity!

From Lord Stanley Suites on the Park, it’s an easy hour and a quarter drive: once you’re across the Lion’s Gate Bridge, just head due north. When you get there, choose from plenty of recreational activities as well as more leisurely pursuits. The Peak 2 Peak gondola ride along with ZipTrek zip lining are two of the more adrenalin-stoked activities, but mountain biking, hiking and golfing are among the most popular summer activities on the mountain.

And if you’re up for the day and just want to hang out, taking a stroll in Whistler Village is a must: discover a bevy of boutiques stocked with crafts from local artisans, peruse the Whistler Farmer’s Market carrying an extensive selection of produce as well as arts & crafts, choose from a wide range of places ranging from casual cafes or a complete fine dining experience, and of course, catch a free outdoor musical performance in the Olympic Plaza.

Finally, a visit to Whistler wouldn’t be complete without getting a photo op by the 5 Olympic Rings installed for the 2010 Winter Olympics: smile and say “Gold medal’!
